Sri Lankan cricket has surpassed the ODI series against Australia and will have a chance to claim the title when they face the Australian in the fourth round of their cricket match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on June 21, 2022 (Tuesday). The visiting team played impressive innings from 291 runs in the last game, but the ease with which the home team chased after them shows just how confident the latter can be. The problem facing the Australian team is the lack of good players and this loss on the slow courts is hurting them. The team is still mentally strong and will try their best in this fourth game. Pathum Nissanka set Sri Lanka’s first ODI record to lead the series 2-1
Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nisanka scored his shinning 137 while Kosal Mendes continued his impressive run at the bat by scoring 87 runs in the previous match while chasing the big lead with ease. Mendes had to leave the field due to a neuromuscular spasm but is fit to play the match while the availability of the spinner and Enindo Hasaranga remains in doubt. Danushka Junathilaka is out due to injury and setback for the home team.
David Warner’s poor performance with the bats left the visitors under pressure in Powerplay, and although Aaron Finch had scored several runs in the previous game, problems persisted with the opening duo. Travis Head is a good middle-ranking player and the Australians will count on him to score some big kicks again. Matthew Kuhnman needs massive improvement as he is the front line player on the team.
