Indian Super League: Hyderabad FC pipped Kerala Blasters on penalties in last season’s final to claim their maiden Indian Super League (ISL) title.
Defending champions Hyderabad FC will start their ISL campaign 2022-23 against Mumbai City at the Ganti Mohan Chandra Balayogi Sports Stadium in Telangana, while the first Kolkata derby of the season will see ATK Mohun Bagan FC take on arch-rivals East Bengal. Salt Lake Stadium October 29.

Indian Super League: Ahead of the ninth edition of the ISL, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) introduced a new format to finally replace the Indian Premier League Football League. As per the new supplementary format, the top two teams will automatically qualify for the semi-finals at the conclusion of the league stage . Meanwhile, the teams placed between third and sixth place will compete in a singles playoff to determine the final.
New ISL playoff format:
Eliminator 1: 3rd placed team vs 6th placed team
Eliminator 2: 4th placed team vs 5th placed team
Semi-final 1 1st Leg: 1st placed team vs (Winner – Eliminator 2)
Semi-final 2 1st Leg: 2nd placed team vs (Winner – Eliminator 1)
Semi-Final 1 2nd Leg: (Winner – Eliminator 2) vs 1st placed team
Semi-Final 2 2nd Leg: (Winner – Eliminator 1) vs 2nd placed team
Indian Super League: The 2022-23 ISL season will also welcome spectators to the stadium after two seasons were disrupted due to the Covid-19 restrictions. In addition, fans can now expect matches to be held on most weekends, making it even more convenient for them to attend matches. Each week in the upcoming campaign one game is scheduled from Thursday to Sunday, making the ISL in line with the major leagues around the world.
