The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has changed the playing conditions for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with the biggest change being related to over-run rate, which will see captains suspended for one match. Instead, they will be given penalty points and only in extreme cases will a ban be imposed.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India told the 10-team expert group at a captains and managers meeting at the board office in Mumbai on Thursday (March 20) that there will be no ban on slow bowling. Instead, a system similar to the ICC will be introduced, where captains will be given penalty points based on the severity of the offence. These negative points will continue for three years.
